Interview with Toni Samek
We read banned books, and other stuff too… (the British Columbia Library Association’s Intellectual Freedom Committee blog) has just posted an interesting interview with SLIS' Toni Samek. She talks about critical librarianship, inellectual freedom, and some current issues facing librarians.

Thanks! We're trying hard to keep it interesting and somewhat consistent. Knowing that someone is paying attention makes it easier!
The Amnesty International addition is thanks to one our FLIF members who found it by accident. We thought that would make an interesting addition to the blog. If click on it you will be taken to a page that will tell you about the content it is showing, and tell you about how to embed it in your own blog/website.
I started as an LIT student and I was surprised by how few of my classmates spent time learning about library issues (I was one of the only ones of about 40 in the program), so I'm glad you're out and about on the web learning about the issues. Good luck with your LT studies.
